Blog post #4

The plant we are experimenting with is Brassica Oleracea. It is a green plant that you can eat. It is a cultivated wild cabbage. You could look at the genes of the parent cells and create an idea of what it's offspring would look like. Plants get these traits by the process of meiosis and eventually gamete formation. This gamete cell will give the plant its traits. The next generation will look similar to the parent but not exact. These plants grown closely together look different because of their genes. Their genes are different.
This is wild cabbage. Many different forms came from this because of crossing over. Genes randomized.

Plant Expiriment

The plants were shocked to the new world so they killed themselves. I tested this by planting new seeds at my house. The independent variable is the plant being shocked or not. The dependent variable is the plant dying or not. Granted the plant has not died yet so our results are inconclusive, I suspect the plant will die.

Blog Post #3

Evidence

Our set of Brassica oleracea were gone so much that there were no reminatates our plant.  In
the first photo you can see there is no plant left about about one month.

The red circle shows where the Brassica
oleracea should be but is mysteriously gone.

The second photo is second plant that was planted about one half meter away.  Once again you can see a similarity in the second Brassica oleracea.

The green circle shows the second Brassica oleracea (dead).

the flag shows where the plant was.

Hypothesis
The plants dying was caused by the dependant variable being the shock to the new world by getting eaten by the chickens..  Then the effect was to become so shockful that it literally killed it self in shock.  I believe this because there are no remnants left of the plants that the chicken ate the rest of the Brassica oleracea so their daily source of energy.  Our dependant variable is the chickens and the climate causing the Brassica oleracea to shrivel up and die then getting eaten by the chickens.

Experiment

Our experiment will take as place as we will have the Brassica oleracea controlled by making sure that they will be protected by a plastic object making sure that they don't get eaten.  Then other Brassica oleracea will be in the same place.  We predict that the Brassica oleracea will survive.  We think that it will survive because they won't get eaten.  At the same time the Brassica oleracea in the plastic cover will survive because they won't have to adapt to the environment.  Also it will not have to adapt to more variables of death. To conclude this will be our outlined experiment.

Hi, my name is Ryan. I have always lived in San Jose, California, but sometimes my family and I visit my grandparents in Morgan Hill. I have gardened before. My family and I planted cucumber and strawberry seeds in my back yard. Although it was fun, the snails soon caught on to a source of food and our small garden quickly disappeared. Throughout my entire life I watched my mom plant various seeds in the soil. She grew strawberries and oranges. As a little kid, they were so good!

My name is Jack Bartoszek. I was born in San Jose California.  I have lived in Willow Glen ever since I was a baby.  I have really never gardened before, but my mom has a garden.  Sometimes I garden when she is gone for money, but that is really it.  Mom grows cherries, oranges, blackberries, and attempted to grow strawberries (but it did not work out).  All I remember is that I would pick some weeds around the house for some money.  People that I think have a lot of experience with gardening is my mom.  I think she knows a lot about gardening because she used to a property manger and she would have gardeners come in garden so she learned because of all the people giving her tips.
